The Chief Executive and Fund Manager of Fyshe Crestar is Dr Hardeep Tamana, who established the UK's first Islamic Stockbroking Service. He has an analytical PhD in Mineralogy & Geochemistry.

He has an established background in both conventional and Islamic Asset Management. Hardeep has worked in the Financial Services sector since 1994 in various Institutional Banking roles (HSBC & Bank EXIM) and later developed a conventional stockbroking career. Hardeep pursues a value investment style, which suits traditional Islamic needs, but is not averse to adapting market tactics to suit the overall market conditions, especially where this is deemed likely to enhance returns.

He is a broker/dealer who has sought to use his skills in highlighting the shortcomings of some established houses (e.g., long-only funds must not forget that in bear market conditions, varying the cash element to a level that matches or is higher than HNI portfolio bond holdings, can act as a powerful short term hedge for Islamic funds).
