Grant Collins is a senior associate in Dechert's finance and real estate group. Qualified in the US and UK, his practice focuses on the provision of advice concerning structured finance and derivatives transactions, and also securities and derivatives regulation generally. He has been actively involved in the development of Shari'ah-compliant investment and derivative products.
Grant's recent representations include:
- Acting for Gatehouse Bank plc as Arranger and Dealer in connection with the establishment of a landmark US$1 billion Sukuk Certificate Issuance Programme listed on the Channel Islands Stock Exchange;
- Acting for Merrill Lynch International on the development of various Shari'ah-compliant derivatives and structured products; and
- Acting for Merrill Lynch International as Arranger and Dealer in connection with the issuance of Certificates listed on the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange under the Falak Limited US$1 billion Shari'ah-compliant Certificate Issuance Programme.
Prior to his legal career, Grant spent several years working in investment banking where he focused on M&A and equity/equity-linked capital raising transactions, particularly in emerging markets.
